Scandal!

Well, i'm sure most people have read the headlines today regarding our 'beloved' (whom i detest a lot as he was the one responsible for extending housemanship to 2 years!) health minister, he sure began the year with a huge bang! hehe! Initially he stated indignantly that he would not resign from his post but he eventually bowed to pressure exerted on him during a cabinet meeting. I'm sure UMNO politicians were among those that requested him to resign and this really shows the double standards and hypocrisy in malaysia today. The health minister was forced to resign over a sex scandal which basically really is no big deal compared to corruption scandals. Take for instance the klang councillor, MR Z or something, he was not even forced to resign at all by his peers and in fact, he is even flaunting his huge palace-like mansion in the newspaper, which no doubt was acquired and paid for via dubious means. Why was there no call for resignation or for any action!!! Sex scandal or corruption? which is the bigger evil??? food for thought, dear friends, i really do hope those who are eligible to vote this year would make an informed vote which would hopefully put an end to all these nonsense. Let's see which party will end up gaining the health minister seat, i'm putting my bet on a malay-dominant party which starts with a 'U' hehe

If i Could Just Breath a Little....

Helped a person breath yesterday.....ambu-bagged him.....definitely one of the more memorable moments of my 4 weeks of medical posting.......only then did i realized how essential it is for us to breathe......most of us do not even realize that we're breathing all the time while this man's life was nearly lost just because he could not breath and his life was literally hanging by a thread......sustained by the few of us who took turns to help him breath.....feeling glad to have contributed at least a little =) Must study more regarding emergency medicine as it could really make a difference between life and death....Hope things are gonna get more interesting! So far in 4th year, it's so exhausting physically and mentally that i feel dyspneic at times too.....really need a lil' time to get my breath back....

Controlling teh tarik prices?

Read in the newspaper today that enforcement officers from the domestic trade and consumer affairs ministry tore down a mamak restaurant's signboard and confiscated goods from the restaurant and of course not forgetting to slap them with a hefty fine (RM 22k). Sounds horrible doesn't it ? ALL that just because of selling a cup of milo ais for RM1.80 !

Seriously, it's really mind boggling! I really don't understand what's the big deal about selling milo ais at RM1.80 to the extent that such drastic measures need to be taken. I can understand if it was about a trader stockpilling or selling ESSENTIAL GOODS such as sugar, oil, salt etc at exorbitant prices but milo ais?!?!? i'm sure everyone could live without it if they felt that it was so darn expensive! I'm sure people would naturally stop patronizing that particular restaurant if they felt the prices is too high and i bet my life on it that the people there would not drop dead and die if they were to go without their regular cup of milo ais. i can understand the need to control prices for essential goods but is milo ais considered an essential good as well??? What happened to the law of supply and demand?? are the people of malaysia THAT stupid? would they continue to eat a particular restaurant if they felt it was expensive? if so, i should definely go into the food business in the future, then i could charge exorbitant prices yet my customers would still be coming like flocks of sheeps waiting to be fleeced wahaha!

Seriously, i don't know whats wrong with this country and what's going through the heads of those so called enforcement officers. One thing i'm sure is that their heads are definitely gonna be resonant on percussion. I'm looking forward to them tearing down eating outlets such as McD's, KFC, pizza hut, and many other western restaurants which i'm sure are selling milo ais at prices higher than RM 1.80. But i doubt it'll ever happen or else the word 'discrimination' and 'double standards' would lose its use.

Serves them right for infesting my jambu tree and crawling over my clothes all the time! haha!

Back home again!

After going thru a week of torturing study, sinusitis, otitis media, and 2nd Assessment, i'm back home once again for another 3 weeks of study break. Hopefully this time round, my blardy nose won't act up again.....in fact, i got a bottle of steroid spray from our dear student clinic doc just to make sure it stays the way it should! Getting paranoid already since Professional 2 exams is looming so near....maybe i'll consider going for surgery after the exam since i seem to be getting infection whenever exams comes around.....must be due to increased levels of cortisol (stress hormone) from my adrenals.

To all my friends who are preparing for pro2, wish all of you happy studying and for those who are staying behind at (supposedly) Healthy Campus USMKK, may all of you be safe from typhoid, dengue, and any other weird diseases that lurks around at that God-forsaken place.   

Removed

My last post was removed in case it gets me into trouble especially with people being so sensitive nowadays haha! Anyone who's interested to read it can ask me for it, sms or whatever hehe

i don't think freedom of speech exist in this land.....better be safe than sorry haha!!
